When the lockdowns started we had just released a new album and like many other bands Immanu El had to cancel all plans of touring. Distanced from each other we stayed inside our home studios and started to work on somewhat of a soundtrack to our new reality. Distance is a 31 minute long journey of five ambient tracks that were written, recorded and produced in the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, expressing both our fear of an invisible and life threatening virus as well as our hopes of a new beginning.
In the wake of the crisis we became aware of what was important to us and decided to connect with our audience in a new way, letting them on board our creative process. With the input and support from our community at Patreon we have let our listeners make this album a reality.
Distance is our 6th studio album and will be released on June 4th 2021. It is the first time we make a conceptual album based on ambient/instrumental music and with a minimum of vocal appearances.
